The not only stunning but inspiring First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, shared nuggets of knowledge to an audience of teenage girls at Harlem’s Apollo Theater on Tuesday.
At The Power Of An Educated Girl conference, an event hosted by Glamour magazine, Lady Obama sat on a panel alongside Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron, former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and 16 year old education activists Nurfahanda to discuss the link between granting education to young females and ending global poverty.
Michelle Obama urged the young females to give their education first priority and to put books over boys.
“There is no boy at this age that is cute enough or interesting enough to stop you from getting your education,” she said.
Charlize Theron also pipped in and dropped some truth mentioning “there’s nothing sexier than a smart woman.”
Can I get an Amen!?
The first lady continued by encouraging the young females to believe in themselves and also to surround themselves with positive persons who would help them elevate.
Wise words FLOTUS, wise words…
