According to sources, Bajan badgalriri and Canadian 6god almost didn’t get to collaborate on the now No. 1 single “Work”.
Sources say that Rihanna originally wanted a fellow islander on the track and was trying to get Vybz Kartel, Popcaan or even Mavado for the single off her latest album ANTI, but instead ended up with rumored old flame- Drake.
Sources tell us that in order to add some island flavor to the album, Rihanna reached out to a few Jamaican dancehall artists last year summer.
“Several songs were recorded but eventually she ended up
choosing “Work” which turned out to be a huge single,” sources said.
Additionally, sources also said that Rihanna recorded around 52 songs for her ANTI album so she still has plenty more singles to release another album later this year.
This can probably explain why it took 4 years!
ANTI was released on January 28th and went platinum within days. Rihanna is now gearing up to hit the road for her ANTI World Tour which kicks out in Jacksonville Florida on March 12th.
