On Sunday, in an astonishing outcome of events, Holly Holm defeated the relentless Ronda Rousy by KO.
The underdog Holm surprisingly dominated the fight before scoring the biggest upset in UFC history by knocking out Rousey with a viscous crunching left-foot kick 59 seconds into round two.
Rousey, who’s last three fights lasted a total of 64 seconds altogether, was taken to the hospital in Melbourne where it is said that she is emotionally devastated but physically in good condition.
The fight, which was the first UFC event ever held in Melbourne, drew a crowd of 56,214 fans and broke the promotion’s previous attendance record of 55,724 set at UFC 129 on April 30, 2011.
This defeat would break Rousey’s 11 time winning streak and make Holm the bantamweight championship belt holder.
